Privacy Policy

Quick Summary

The Short Version

Four Promises We Make

  • Your email files stay in your browser. We never see them or store them on our servers.
  • We do not sell, trade or transfer your information to anyone.
  • We do not allow third-party behavioral tracking on this site.
  • Anything you send to our servers is encrypted in transit via SSL.

Browser-Only Processing

How We Handle Your Email Files

EML Reader processes your email files entirely in your browser. When you drop an .eml file onto the viewer, your browser reads the file and renders it locally. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. We have no way to see your files, your attachments or your email contents.

This applies to everyone who uses the free online viewer, whether you create an account or not. It also applies to the desktop product, which runs on your computer and reads .eml files from your local disk. No internet connection is required to view your files, and nothing about your file contents is sent back to us.

If you have asked your IT team to whitelist this domain, you can verify the above by inspecting network traffic in your browser developer tools while opening a file.

Data Collection

Information We Collect

We collect very limited information, and only when you give it to us yourself.

What We Collect

  • Name and email address when you contact support@systoolsgroup.com, report a bug, request a feature or use the live chat.
  • Cookie data for site functionality, such as remembering your preferences. See the Cookies section below.
  • Aggregated, anonymous traffic data through our web analytics, including page views, browser type, country and time spent on the page.
  • Payment information when you buy the desktop product. This is handled by our payment processor, not by us.

What We Do Not Collect

  • Your email files, attachments, addresses or any content from .eml files you process.
  • Credit card numbers. Payment data goes directly to our payment processor.
  • Behavioral data across other websites.
  • Sensitive personal information unless you choose to send it to us.

Data Usage

How We Use Your Information

Anything you share with us is used for a small set of clearly defined purposes.

  • Responding to your support questions, bug reports and feature requests.
  • Improving the website and the product based on feedback you give us.
  • Sending updates only if you specifically ask for them.
  • Fulfilling orders and providing customer service for paid products.

Security

How We Protect Your Data

Information you do share with us is protected through several measures.

  • SSL encryption for all data sent between your browser and our servers.
  • Regular malware scans of our servers and software releases.
  • Access controls that limit which team members can see contact emails.
  • No third-party access to your support correspondence or account data.

Cookies

Cookies On This Site

We use cookies to remember your preferences and improve your experience on the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some features may not work fully if you disable them.

We do not use cookies for cross-site behavioral tracking, retargeting ads or building profiles of you across the web.

Third Parties

Third-Party Services And Links

We use a small number of third-party services to run the site. These currently include a web analytics provider, a payment processor for the desktop product and a live chat platform. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy, which you can review on their websites.

Our site may occasionally link to third-party websites or products. These sites operate under their own privacy practices. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your data.

We do not sell, trade or transfer your personal information to anyone outside the small set of providers above, and even those providers see only the data they need to do their specific job.

Your Rights

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have specific rights over the data we hold about you.

  • Ask us what data we hold about you, and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct any data that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete the data we hold about you.
  • Opt out of any marketing communication. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or just reply asking to be removed.
  • File a complaint with a data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

Policy Updates

Changes To This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change, when new laws apply or when we add features that affect how we handle data. The Last Updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

We do not send individual notifications when this policy changes. Please check this page from time to time if these details matter to you.
